coburnworks inc. I am not sure when I fell in love with idea of Paris. I remember being in junior high and always talking about running away to France, much to the shock of my family. I did finally make it there, March of 1998, 6 months after I graduated from college. It was not my first trip abroad, but my first trip to France, and I was only there for 24 hour.
Sadly, it was not until October of 2001 that I was able to return. Now I try to make it back at least once a year, depending on what my bank account says, and who I know is there. I have been very luckily the past 2 years, as my friends David and Sasha have been living there, but they will be coming home in August, sadly.
How does one madly dash around Europe? Well, like any good story, it started at a bar. One night, Abby, Toby and I are at the Summit having many beers, and talking about my upcoming trip to Paris for Thanksgiving. Abby, having never been out of the country, expressed some interest in a trip abroad, and well, one thing leads to another, and before I know it, I am looking up fares for Abby and I to journey across the pond.
My goal, to get as many stamps in her passport as I could, (she has 5 now)! So, on February 17th, we start our great journey across the pond. it was Planes, Trains, Automobiles, and lots of maps!
Guinness, driving on the "wrong" side of the road, Smithwicks, tasty seafood, Guinness, and lots of wonderful sights. I think that about sums up my 7-day driving tour of Ireland. What was a "hey we should go to Ireland in the spring" suggestion that turned into a lovely trip all around. Except for the whole driving thing. Its a wonder we didn't kill somoene the way we were driving....
